"I walked away from God for years and now it's too late to be fully restored."
How it sounds in your head: There were decades when I didn't follow Him—living for myself, making choices I knew were wrong. I came back, but I feel like a second-class Christian. Like I lost my full inheritance during those wilderness years and now I get scraps, not sonship.
"But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.'"
-- Luke 15:22-24Source: Older-brother theology from Luke 15 that creates hierarchy among believers, contradicting the Father's full restoration of the prodigal with ring, robe, and sandals all at once.
You can count the years of wandering—decades lost. The returning feels too easy, like you're getting away with something. Surely there should be probation, earned trust, a long road back to full status.
Peter denied Jesus THREE TIMES with cursing, after three years of following Him. After the resurrection, Jesus didn't put Peter on probation—He restored him with three questions of love, gave him the assignment to 'feed My sheep,' and Peter became the boldest apostle at Pentecost weeks later. Full restoration, immediate assignment.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a second-class Christian. IT IS WRITTEN that the father gave the prodigal the BEST robe, the RING, and SANDALS—full sonship restored in 15 minutes. Peter went from denier to apostle in one conversation. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ—not 'less condemnation' or 'probationary acceptance.' I am FULLY restored, COMPLETELY forgiven, TOTALLY accepted. The BARAK blessing covered Israel even through 40 years of wilderness wandering. I stand in BETTER covenant. I am NOT second-class. I am a SON, a DAUGHTER, FULLY RESTORED NOW.
The Father has been watching for your return, and the moment you turned toward home, He was already running with the robe in His hands. There is no probation in His house—only party.
