"I trusted that advisor and lost years of savings—I can't trust my own judgment anymore."
How it sounds in your head: He had the credentials, the office, the reputation. You asked questions, did your due diligence, and still got burned. Now every financial decision feels paralyzing because you can't trust your own discernment. If you were wrong about something this important, what else are you wrong about?
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
-- James 1:5Enemy using one bad outcome to destroy confidence in all future decisions, making victim believe they lack wisdom permanently.
The evidence is concrete—you trusted someone you shouldn't have and the money is gone. It feels like your judgment is fundamentally flawed, and at this age, you don't have time to recover from more mistakes.
Peter denied Jesus three times in His darkest hour—the ultimate trust failure. Days later, Jesus didn't put him on probation or question his judgment—He RESTORED him fully and gave him leadership over the entire church with no waiting period.
I REFUSE the lie that one financial betrayal has permanently damaged my ability to hear God or make wise decisions. IT IS WRITTEN that if I lack wisdom, God gives it LIBERALLY and without reproach—He's not reviewing my advisor failure before releasing wisdom to me. I have the MIND of Christ, and the Holy Spirit leads me into all truth, regardless of past mistakes. IT IS WRITTEN that I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and my discernment flows from my union with Him, not from my track record. The BARAK blessing that protected Jacob when Laban changed his wages TEN TIMES protects me—God gave Jacob the wealth anyway. My Father is not waiting for me to prove I've learned my lesson—He's running toward me with restoration like the prodigal's father, robe and ring ready, authority fully restored.
Your Father doesn't see you as damaged goods with compromised judgment—He sees you as His beloved daughter, righteous in Christ, fully capable of hearing His voice. He's already preparing to restore what the dishonest advisor took, just like He gave Job double after his friends gave terrible counsel.
