"I talk too much and dominate conversations. People would prefer if I just listened more."
How it sounds in your head: I catch myself talking and think 'shut up, nobody cares.' I see people's eyes glaze over mid-sentence. Someone said 'do you ever stop talking?' and now I replay it every time I open my mouth. Maybe I should just ask questions and keep my thoughts to myself.
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."
-- Proverbs 18:21Enemy strategy to silence your voice before you speak life to others.
You've been interrupted, talked over, or seen people check their phones while you're speaking. You've been told you 'take up too much space' in group settings. You feel guilty every time you have something to say.
Peter talked constantly, interrupted, said the wrong thing, rebuked Jesus to His face—and Jesus STILL said 'on this rock I will build My church.' God didn't need Peter quieter; He needed Peter BOLDER.
I REFUSE the lie that I talk too much. IT IS WRITTEN that death and life are in the power of MY tongue, and my words carry LIFE. The enemy wants me silent because my voice is a WEAPON. IT IS WRITTEN that out of the mouth of babes God ordains strength to silence the enemy—my words matter more than I know. I am Abraham's seed by covenant—the BARAK blessing means my words carry WEIGHT, not because I earned it but because CHRIST lives in me. I don't need to shrink my voice. I need to SPEAK what God put in my mouth.
The Father isn't rolling His eyes waiting for you to stop talking—He's LISTENING like every word is a treasure. He doesn't want you quieter; He wants you BOLDER because your voice sounds like His Son's.
