"I sit in church unnoticed; no one would miss me if I stopped attending."
How it sounds in your head: I used to serve, used to be greeted warmly, used to feel needed. Now I slip in and out without conversation. Younger families fill the rooms I used to lead. I'm a body in a seat, a name on a list, nothing more.
"No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary."
-- 1 Corinthians 12:22Religious system that measures value by activity, exploited by enemy to hide her identity as living temple.
Leadership roles went to younger members. No one calls during the week. She can skip services and receive no text, no call, no 'we missed you.' The silence feels like confirmation of irrelevance.
Poor, elderly, unnoticed by the religious crowd watching wealthy donors. Jesus stopped everything, called His disciples, and made HER the teaching illustration—her unnoticed offering received more commendation than all the visible givers combined.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm unnoticed or unnecessary. IT IS WRITTEN that members who seem weaker are NECESSARY—the Body is incomplete without me. Man looks at visibility; God looks at the heart. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a living stone in God's spiritual house, a royal priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices. My prayers from the back pew shake Heaven's throne room. The BARAK blessing flows through me into that congregation whether anyone acknowledges it or not. I don't serve for recognition; I ABIDE in the Vine, and fruit is automatic. I am SEEN by the One who matters.
While the church may overlook you, the Father is leaning over Heaven's balcony, pointing you out to angels, saying 'Watch her—THAT'S faithfulness, THAT'S the treasure I'm building My house with.' Your unseen worship is the gold, silver, and precious stones.
