"I sinned sexually, so I've ruined my testimony and future ministry."
How it sounds in your head: I slept with him. We went too far. I sent those pictures. How can God ever use me to minister to others when I have this in my past? Youth leaders, worship leaders, speakers—they have to be pure. I disqualified myself.
"The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 'Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?'"
-- John 4:28-29Source: Purity culture that treats sexual sin as uniquely disqualifying, especially for women.
You can't undo what happened. The memory, the shame, the physical reality—it feels like a permanent stain on your calling.
Rahab was a professional prostitute—her sin wasn't a mistake; it was her career. God not only saved her but put her in the MESSIANIC LINE. She's one of four women mentioned in Jesus' genealogy, honored forever.
I REFUSE the lie that my sexual past disqualifies me from ministry or testimony. IT IS WRITTEN that He makes all things new, not all things except sexual things. The woman at the well had five husbands and Jesus made her an evangelist. Rahab was a prostitute and Jesus put her in His family tree. IT IS WRITTEN that I am the righteousness of God in Christ—not because of my virginity or lack thereof, but because of His blood. My testimony isn't 'I was always pure'; it's 'His grace is bigger than my worst.' The BARAK blessing over my life doesn't have a purity clause—it's a covenant promise that covers even what I gave away.
The Father sees the shame you carry over your sexual past and He's handing you the robe of righteousness, not a scarlet letter. Your ministry will be STRONGER because of what He redeemed.
