"I should spend less on myself and just save it for my kids."
How it sounds in your head: They'll need the inheritance. I've had my turn. I should be frugal now so there's something left for them. Spending on myself feels selfish at this stage.
"I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread."
-- Psalm 37:25Enemy/religion: False nobility that rejects God's abundance for you NOW.
You worked hard to provide. Leaving them something feels responsible. Enjoying yourself feels wasteful when they have needs. Churches praise sacrifice and self-denial as virtue.
After his trials, the Lord blessed Job's LATTER days more than his beginning—double everything he lost. He didn't just survive to pass it on; he LIVED in abundance, enjoying God's blessing before leaving inheritance.
I REFUSE the lie that I must deny myself. IT IS WRITTEN: God has not forsaken me nor my seed. IT IS WRITTEN: I came that you might have life ABUNDANTLY. I am Abraham's seed—the BARAK blessing is covenant abundance for ME and my descendants. Job's latter days were MORE blessed than his beginning. There is enough for my enjoyment AND their inheritance. I receive the Father's extravagant goodness NOW.
The Father isn't asking you to starve so your kids can eat. He's the one who killed the fattened calf for the prodigal IMMEDIATELY. He's running toward you with abundance for THIS moment, not just the future.
