"I should restrict my eating to extend my life and not burden my family longer."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe if you eat less, take up less space, need less care, you'll be less of a burden. Or maybe restricting food is the one thing you can still control. Either way, food has become about deserving to live or managing your death.
"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?"
-- Matthew 6:25Enemy twisting basic nourishment into either self-punishment for existing or control mechanism against fear.
You see the strain on your family, the cost of your care, and feel guilty for every resource you consume. Restricting food feels like taking up less space in a world you feel you're overstaying.
Down to her last meal, planning to eat it and die with her son. Elijah said make ME bread FIRST—which seemed cruel. She obeyed, and her flour and oil never ran out through the entire famine—INSTANT, continuous provision that sustained her life when she expected death.
I REFUSE the lie that I should restrict eating to avoid being a burden or that I don't deserve nourishment. IT IS WRITTEN not to worry about what I will eat—my Father KNOWS I need food and He provides it. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and IT IS WRITTEN the righteous are not forsaken nor begging bread. The BARAK blessing includes 'blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl'—my provision is COVENANT-guaranteed. I eat with thanksgiving, receiving life from my Father's hand without guilt or manipulation.
The Father doesn't measure your worth by how little space you take up—He LAVISHES provision on His children because that's who He IS. He spread a table for you, and He's not waiting for you to prove you deserve a seat.
