"I should prepare my family for my death because this diagnosis is terminal."
How it sounds in your head: The statistics don't lie. Five-year survival rate is less than 15%. You need to be responsible—update your will, have the hard conversations, get your affairs in order. Hoping for a miracle is irresponsible to your family. Face reality.
"I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD."
-- Psalm 118:17Source: world system that accepts death's dominion and treats faith in God's promises as denial instead of trust in covenant.
Every responsible instinct says prepare for the worst. He's seen people die unprepared, leaving families in chaos. Accepting the terminal diagnosis feels like mature realism, not lack of faith.
Her promised son dropped dead in the field—not sick, not terminal, completely DEAD. She refused to say 'he's dead,' laid him on the prophet's bed, and said 'It is well.' Elisha raised him INSTANTLY back to life—she refused the death sentence even when it was complete.
I REFUSE the lie that this diagnosis is my final sentence. IT IS WRITTEN that I shall NOT die but LIVE and declare the works of the Lord. Statistics measure the past; God's Word creates my future. IT IS WRITTEN in Numbers 23:19 that God is not a man that He should lie—if He said by His stripes I was healed, then I AM healed. Death and life are in the power of my tongue, and I speak LIFE over my body. The BARAK blessing promises length of days and satisfied life (Psalm 91:16). I am not preparing for death; I am preparing for LIFE and the testimony of God's goodness. I shall live to see my grandchildren's grandchildren because the Lord is my portion and my inheritance.
The Father isn't asking you to prepare for death—He's preparing you for LIFE, abundant life, resurrection life flowing through your veins right now. He's not standing over your casket planning a funeral; He's standing at the tomb shouting 'Come forth!' the same way He did for Lazarus.
