"I should just accept this. Fighting it means I'm not surrendered to God's will."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe singleness is God's perfect will for you and resisting it is resisting Him. The spiritual thing is surrender, acceptance, dying to your desires. Stop fighting. Stop hoping. Just submit to what is.
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
-- Matthew 7:7Religion: redefines surrender as passivity, making resignation sound like faith and desire sound like rebellion.
'Thy will be done' sounds biblical. Spiritual leaders talk about surrender. Accepting singleness feels more peaceful than constant hoping and disappointment. Maybe letting go is the answer.
Jesus told this parable specifically 'that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.' The widow kept coming, kept asking, refused to quit—and Jesus presented her as the MODEL, not as someone who needed to surrender her request and accept injustice.
I REFUSE the lie that hoping for marriage means I'm not surrendered. IT IS WRITTEN: Ask, seek, knock—present tense, keep doing it. Surrender is trusting God while continuing to desire, not resignation disguised as spirituality. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out. The BARAK blessing is mine by covenant. The persistent widow kept asking and Jesus praised her. I am not rebellious for wanting what God designed humans to want. I surrender the timeline, not the hope.
Father is not waiting for you to stop wanting relationship before He provides it—testing your resignation as proof of surrender. He's running toward you, delighted by your honest desires, inviting you to keep asking, keep knocking, keep hoping, because persistence isn't rebellion. It's faith.
