"I should just accept this demonic torment as part of dying; resisting it shows lack of surrender."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe this is the cross I'm meant to bear at the end. Fighting feels like I'm not surrendered to God's will. Perhaps I should just endure it peacefully.
"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
-- James 4:7Religious teaching confused surrender to God with passivity toward the enemy, making resistance feel like rebellion against divine sovereignty.
A lifetime of 'surrender' sermons taught her to accept all suffering as God's will, making active resistance feel spiritually immature. She fears fighting the attack might mean fighting God's mysterious purposes.
Jesus surrendered to the FATHER'S will ('not My will but Yours') but when Satan attacked through demonic oppression so intense an angel came to strengthen Him, Jesus didn't 'accept it peacefully'—He fought in prayer until sweat became blood. Surrender to God includes warfare against the enemy.
I REFUSE the lie that accepting demonic torment shows spiritual surrender. IT IS WRITTEN: submit to God, RESIST the devil. These aren't contradictory—they're complementary. Resisting hell's attacks IS obedience to heaven's command. IT IS WRITTEN that when I resist the devil he will FLEE. Jesus Himself fought spiritual warfare in Gethsemane while surrendering to the Father. I surrender to God's will, which is my freedom, and I resist the devil's torment. This isn't lack of surrender—this is warrior faith.
The Father isn't asking you to peacefully coexist with demonic torment—He's handing you the Sword of the Spirit saying 'Daughter, I gave you authority. Use it. Resisting My enemy IS surrendering to Me. Fight, beloved. I'm fighting WITH you.'
