"I must be cursed because bad things keep happening to my family."
How it sounds in your head: My parents fight all the time, money is always tight, someone's always sick. Maybe we did something wrong or someone in my family sinned. Maybe I'm being punished for something.
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree')."
-- Galatians 3:13Religion teaching generational curses still apply under New Covenant despite Galatians 3:13.
She sees patterns in her family's struggles and has heard adults talk about 'generational curses' or 'breaking cycles.' The Bible mentions consequences passing down, so it seems logical.
Disciples asked, 'Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus said, 'NEITHER—this happened so God's works could be displayed.' No generational curse. Then Jesus instantly healed him.
I REFUSE the lie that I or my family are under a curse. IT IS WRITTEN: Christ has REDEEMED me from every curse. I am not under law—I am under GRACE. Every curse was nailed to the cross and I receive the BLESSING OF ABRAHAM by covenant, not behavior. IT IS WRITTEN: If I am Christ's, then I am Abraham's seed and HEIR according to the promise. The BARAK blessing protects me even when I mess up—it protected liars, deceivers, even murderers because it's based on COVENANT not conduct. No generational curse can override the blood of Jesus. I am blessed coming in and going out, in the city and in the field, above only and not beneath.
The Father didn't wait for your family to get it all right—He sent Jesus to BECOME the curse so you could receive the blessing. You're not working your way out of darkness; you're already standing in His marvelous light.
