"I should have listened to everyone who said starting a business was too risky."
How it sounds in your head: My parents were right. My boyfriend was right. I was naive and impulsive. If I'd just stayed in my stable job, I wouldn't be in this mess. Now I look stupid to everyone who warned me.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
-- Joshua 1:9World: Punishes risk-takers to keep everyone in the safe herd.
Everyone's 'I told you so' looks are constant reminders. The safe path her friends took seems so much smarter now.
Peter got out of the boat when everyone else stayed safe. He started sinking and Jesus IMMEDIATELY caught him—didn't lecture him for trying, but praised him for being the only one who got out.
I REFUSE the lie that I should have played it safe. IT IS WRITTEN: God commands courage, not caution, and He is with me wherever I go. The 11 disciples who stayed in the boat never walked on water—only Peter who risked did. IT IS WRITTEN: Abraham went out not knowing where, and THAT was counted as righteousness, not the outcome. My willingness to launch was faith, and God honors that even if the landing wasn't perfect. The BARAK protected Isaac when he planted in FAMINE and reaped a hundredfold the same year. I decree Peter's boldness, Abraham's faith, and Isaac's famine-breaking harvest over my next venture. Critics will always choose safety, but I choose the adventure of faith.
The Father isn't ashamed that you got out of the boat. He's proud you were the only one brave enough to try, and He's already planning your next walk-on-water moment while everyone else is still playing it safe.
