"I should have done more with my life—I had potential but I squandered it and now it's too late."
How it sounds in your head: I had dreams once. Gifts I never developed. Opportunities I didn't take. I look at women who DID something with their lives and I just... existed. I had potential and I wasted it, and there's no do-over at this age.
"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 3:13-14Source: Enemy's condemnation using comparison and regret to paralyze, and the religious lie that there are expiration dates on God's calls.
She genuinely had dreams she didn't pursue—maybe because of fear, or responsibilities, or bad advice. She sees other women who went for it and wonders 'what if?' The time she thought she had is gone.
80 years old, spent 40 years as a shepherd thinking his leadership days were over after he blew it in Egypt. God showed up and said 'NOW you're ready' and gave him the assignment that defined history—his greatest work started at 80.
I REFUSE the lie that I wasted my potential or that it's too late for God's purpose. IT IS WRITTEN that I am to FORGET what is behind and REACH FORWARD to what is ahead. The gifts and calling of God are IRREVOCABLE—He didn't take them back. IT IS WRITTEN that with God nothing is impossible, and He redeems time. I am Abraham's seed, and Moses got his burning bush at 80. The Father isn't mourning what I didn't do—He's handing me the assignment I'm FINALLY ready for, and it's BIGGER than what I thought I missed.
The Father isn't reviewing your resume looking for gaps—He's saying 'NOW you're ready' for the thing only your EXACT story qualifies you for. Your preparation wasn't wasted; it was RIGHT ON TIME.
