"I should have done more for God while I could; now it's too late."
How it sounds in your head: You wasted decades on trivial things. You could have served more, given more, prayed more, witnessed more. Now your body won't cooperate and opportunities are gone. You failed God and there's no making up for it.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Religious performance gospel that measures devotion by activity, imported from works-based righteousness.
Regret is heavy. You see opportunities you missed and choices you'd change. Time can't be recovered, and your body can't do what your heart wishes it could.
Denied Jesus THREE TIMES at His greatest need. Epic failure. Jesus' response? Made him breakfast, restored him with THREE affirmations, and gave him the ENTIRE church to build. Failure wasn't final - grace was instant.
I REFUSE the lie that it's too late to matter to God. IT IS WRITTEN that He RESTORES the years the locust ate - my regrets are His redemption opportunities. My value was never in my DOING but in His CROSS. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus - not 'less' condemnation, NONE. I am righteous by His blood, not my résumé. Every 'should have' is covered by 'It is FINISHED.' The blessing of Abraham covers my entire timeline by covenant, not performance.
The Father doesn't keep a scorecard of missed opportunities. He's running toward you like the prodigal's father - not listing what you didn't do, but celebrating that you're HIS. Grace covers all gaps.
