"I should have been a better steward. This lack is God's judgment."
How it sounds in your head: If you had tithed consistently, budgeted better, saved more, invested wisely—you wouldn't be here. God blesses good stewards. Your current situation proves you weren't faithful with little, so why would He trust you with much?
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich."
-- 2 Corinthians 8:9Religious teaching that blessing is earned through stewardship performance and lack indicates God's disapproval.
You can remember times you didn't tithe, purchases you regret, opportunities you missed. Your provider role makes you feel responsible. Church teaching said stewardship determines blessing, and your bank account seems to prove it.
Abraham lied to Pharaoh, saying Sarah was his sister to save his own skin. God plagued PHARAOH (the honest one) and prospered ABRAHAM (the liar). Abraham left Egypt with gold, silver, and livestock—richer than before. The blessing wasn't based on truth-telling.
I REFUSE the lie that my lack is God's judgment on poor stewardship. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus became poor so I would become RICH—this is grace, not performance review. I am not under law but under grace. The blessing of Abraham is mine through Christ, and it protected liars, deceivers, and failures. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus. My Father isn't withholding because I wasn't a perfect steward. He's running toward me with provision because that's who HE is. I am Abraham's seed through Christ, blessed coming in and going out, blessed in my storehouses. The BARAK covers me by covenant, not competence.
Your Father isn't reviewing your stewardship records and withholding until you prove yourself. He's running toward you with the ring and robe while you still smell like the pig pen of financial failure. His blessing isn't wages you earn—it's GRACE you receive. Jesus already took your poverty so you could have His wealth.
