"I deserve financial struggle because I ignored wisdom and made foolish investment choices."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone told you not to co-sign that loan. The financial advisor warned you about that investment. You ignored every red flag. This poverty is what you earned through stupidity.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
-- Romans 8:1Religious teaching that God punishes financial foolishness with ongoing poverty as a lesson.
She can trace every current financial problem directly back to specific decisions she made against advice. The consequences seem proportionate to the stupidity.
Abraham LIED to Pharaoh, claiming Sarah was his sister to save his own skin—pure cowardice and deception. God plagued Pharaoh instead of Abraham, and Abraham left Egypt RICHER with livestock, silver and gold, blessed despite being a liar.
I REFUSE the lie that I deserve poverty because of past financial foolishness. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ—not reduced condemnation, NONE. Abraham lied twice and left richer both times because the BARAK blessing isn't based on perfect decisions. I am Abraham's seed through Christ, and that blessing is mine by COVENANT, not by financial wisdom. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:29 that if I am Christ's, I am Abraham's seed and heir according to PROMISE. My Father's provision flows from His nature, not my track record.
Your Father isn't punishing you for bad investments—He's the One who gave the prodigal FULL restoration after he blew everything on prostitutes. He doesn't grade on financial literacy; He blesses based on sonship, and you're His daughter.
