"I should downsize my expectations because God honors humility, not requests for more."
How it sounds in your head: Every time you think about asking God for financial breakthrough, that voice says 'who do you think you are?' You feel presumptuous even bringing it up. Good Christians are supposed to be humble, grateful for little, not boldly asking for abundance.
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
-- Ephesians 3:20Source: Religion's false humility teaching that confuses meekness with poverty mindset, making lack seem more holy than blessing.
The church praised stories of missionaries who lived on nothing and questioned anyone who prospered. As a woman especially, you learned to make yourself small, want less, ask for less. Boldness felt masculine or greedy.
Solomon asked for wisdom (didn't ask for wealth), and God said 'Because you didn't ask for riches, I'm giving you riches AND honor anyway—no one will be like you.' God ADDED what wasn't even requested.
I REFUSE the lie that humility means small expectations. IT IS WRITTEN that my God does EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE all I ask or think—not barely enough, not just sufficient, but ABOVE. I am Abraham's seed, heir to covenant blessing that protected even liars and deceivers. The BARAK makes me the HEAD not the tail, ABOVE only not beneath. IT IS WRITTEN: I can ask WHATEVER in Jesus' name and He will do it. My Father isn't honored by my poverty mindset—He's glorified when I receive the abundance Christ purchased. The prodigal got the fattened calf, not the leftovers. I boldly approach the throne of GRACE to receive, not to apologize for asking.
Your Father isn't impressed by you asking for less—He's the God who gives ABOVE what you ask, who threw a party for a son who deserved nothing, who delights in abundance. He's not waiting for you to shrink your request; He's waiting to blow your mind with MORE.
