"I should defer to older voices. My perspective as a young woman doesn't carry weight."
How it sounds in your head: In rooms with older, more experienced people, I stay quiet. Who am I to speak up? They've lived longer, seen more, earned their place. My thoughts feel small and insignificant next to their wisdom and authority.
"Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time."
-- Judges 4:4Religion/world: Patriarchy and seniority culture silence the voices God wants to amplify.
She's been talked over, dismissed, or praised for being 'quiet and respectful.' The reinforcement is constant—older is wiser, male is more authoritative, young women should listen and learn, not lead and speak.
Esther was a young woman in a foreign palace with no formal authority, yet Mordecai told her, 'Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as THIS?' She was the hinge on which the survival of an entire nation turned. Her voice saved a people.
I REFUSE the lie that I should defer and stay silent. IT IS WRITTEN that Deborah was JUDGING Israel—not deferring, not waiting for permission, but LEADING with God's authority. Esther's voice saved a nation, and I carry the same Spirit. IT IS WRITTEN that in Christ there is neither male nor female—my Father doesn't rank voices by gender or age. He anoints by calling. I am not less-than because I'm young or female—I am commissioned by Heaven. The BARAK blessing flows through me, and when I speak, I speak with the authority of the One who sent me. I will not silence myself to make insecure leaders comfortable. My voice matters because GOD gave it to me.
Your Father isn't asking you to shrink so others feel big—He gave you a voice and a perspective this generation NEEDS. The rooms that dismiss you aren't your assignment. The tables that silence you don't deserve you. He's preparing platforms where your voice will be AMPLIFIED, not muted.
