"I should be grateful for whatever health I have left and not ask for more at my age."
How it sounds in your head: I'm alive, that's more than some people. Asking God to restore full health seems greedy when others are worse off. Maybe I should just be thankful for what I've got.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religious guilt mixing with enemy's lie that lowered expectations honor God, when actually they insult the finished work.
He genuinely sees people suffering more, and gratitude is biblical, so limiting expectations feels humble. False humility masquerades as contentment while rejecting inheritance.
Blind beggar on roadside, people told him to be quiet and grateful for scraps. He shouted LOUDER, 'Jesus, have MERCY on me!' Jesus asked what he wanted—Bartimaeus said 'I want to SEE.' Jesus gave complete sight IMMEDIATELY, commended his faith.
I REFUSE the lie that asking for full health is greedy or dishonoring. IT IS WRITTEN: God's will is that I prosper in ALL things and be in HEALTH—3 John 2. Not partial, not age-appropriate, not 'good enough'—HEALTH. Bartimaeus wasn't satisfied with scraps and Jesus COMMENDED his bold ask. IT IS WRITTEN: by His stripes I WAS healed—complete, purchased, finished. The BARAK blessing isn't partial—it's FULLNESS in every area. Accepting less than Jesus paid for doesn't honor Him; it minimizes the cross. I receive FULL restoration because that's what He purchased.
The Father isn't offended by your big ask—He's offended by your SMALL one. He paid the full price for COMPLETE wholeness and is grieved when you settle for scraps like you're not His son.
