"I should be content with just enough and not desire overflow."
How it sounds in your head: Paul said godliness with contentment is great gain and to be content with food and clothing. Desiring more than basic provision sounds like discontentment, like you're not really trusting God or grateful for what you have. Shouldn't you just be satisfied with 'enough'?
"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it."

The Scriptures about contentment are real, and you don't want to be the greedy fool building bigger barns. It feels safer to stay small, want less, need less, and call it spiritual maturity rather than risk being labeled materialistic.
Boaz didn't give Ruth just enough grain to survive—he told his workers to deliberately pull out EXTRA from the bundles for her, more than she could carry. God's provision through him was ABUNDANT, not rationed, foreshadowing the overflow blessing in redemption.
I REFUSE the lie that I should settle for just enough. IT IS WRITTEN that God opens windows of heaven and pours out blessing until there's not room enough to receive it—that's OVERFLOW, not subsistence. Contentment in circumstances doesn't mean rejecting God's abundance. IT IS WRITTEN that I may prosper in all things and be in health, just as my soul prospers. The BARAK blessing is overflow—blessed coming in and going out, in city and field, storehouses COMMANDED to abundance. I am content in Christ while receiving the overflow He promises.
The Father didn't give the prodigal a modest welcome-home meal—He killed the fattened CALF, threw a party, and celebrated with OVERFLOW. He's not a God who measures portions but One who lavishes abundance on returning sons.
