"I ruined my children by the way I raised them"
How it sounds in your head: If I'd been a better mother, they wouldn't struggle now. I was too strict, or too lenient, or too distracted. I worked too much. I didn't protect them enough. Their problems are my fault, and now I'm too old to fix what I broke.
"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
-- Philippians 1:6Religious lie that parenting performance determines children's outcomes, making mothers messiahs instead of Christ.
She sees adult children's struggles and traces them back to her parenting decisions. Hindsight reveals mistakes she can't undo, and her age makes redemption feel impossible.
Jochebed had to give up Moses at three months old, unable to raise her own son, watching him grow up in Pharaoh's pagan palace. Yet God used even her forced absence to position Moses to deliver a nation—her 'failure' was God's setup for freedom.
I REFUSE the lie that my parenting mistakes disqualified God's plan for my children. IT IS WRITTEN that He who began a good work in them will COMPLETE it—not because I did everything right, but because HE is faithful. I was never their messiah; Jesus is. My children are not products of my performance but recipients of God's PROMISE through the BARAK blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and that righteousness covers my past, present, and future—including every parenting mistake. The Father is RUNNING toward my children right now, not waiting for me to have been better. Their breakthrough is NOW.
The Father sees your children as His own, not grading them based on your mothering report card. He's been working in them all along, even through your mistakes, turning every setback into setup—just like He positioned Moses for destiny through circumstances that looked like abandonment.
