Too Much
"I require too much reassurance. Secure people don't need what I need, and my constant need for affirmation is a burden."

How it sounds in your head: You hate that you need to hear 'I love you' again even though they said it yesterday. You feel pathetic asking if everything's okay for the third time. You see their frustration when you need reassurance about the same thing again. Healthy people don't need this much. Something is broken in you.

Lamentations 3:22-23

"Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."

-- Lamentations 3:22-23
The enemy says your need for reassurance is pathological and burdensome. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Lamentations 3:22-23—God's mercies are NEW EVERY MORNING. Not once and you should remember it forever. EVERY. MORNING. God Himself operates on a daily reassurance model. He gives fresh manna daily because He knows you need FRESH reassurance, not just memory of old provision. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 31:8 that He goes before you and will be WITH you; He will not leave or forsake you—a promise He repeats HUNDREDS of times because He knows we need to hear it again and again.
Quick Truth: LIE: I need too much reassurance. TRUTH: God's mercies are NEW every morning—He reassures daily (Lam 3:22-23)

Enemy's lie combined with attachment wounds and a culture that worships independence and shames the God-designed need for connection and reassurance.

Why this feels true:

You've literally felt people's annoyance when you ask for reassurance. You've been called insecure, clingy, needy. You compare yourself to others who seem to require nothing and wonder what's wrong with you that you need so much.

Judges 6:36-40
Gideon

Gideon asked God for a sign with the fleece. God gave it. Then Gideon said, 'Don't be angry, but can I test it ONE MORE TIME the opposite way?' God could have rebuked his need for repeated reassurance. Instead, God gave him the sign AGAIN. Gideon's 'needy' requests didn't disqualify him—God used him to save Israel.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that I need too much reassurance. IT IS WRITTEN in Lamentations 3:22-23 that God's mercies are NEW EVERY MORNING—He Himself operates on a daily reassurance model because He knows I need fresh confirmation of His love. My need for reassurance isn't brokenness; it's being human. IT IS WRITTEN that God repeats His promises hundreds of times throughout Scripture because He knows we need to hear truth again and again. I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK blessing, and that blessing means I have access to unlimited reassurance from an inexhaustible Father.

But God actually:

Your Father doesn't sigh when you come for reassurance again—He's been waiting all morning to tell you AGAIN how much He loves you. He gives mercies new EVERY morning because He knows yesterday's reassurance isn't enough for today's need, and He delights to speak it fresh.
