"I require too much patience from the people around me"
How it sounds in your head: I can see people getting frustrated with me when I don't understand something right away or when I mess up. I take longer than other kids to get things. I feel like everyone's patience with me is running out.
"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
-- Isaiah 40:31Performance system and comparison creating false timeline and shame over learning pace that God designed uniquely.
He's seen frustration or impatience from teachers or parents when he doesn't grasp something quickly. Comparisons to siblings or classmates who 'get it' faster make him feel defective.
Moses told God he was slow of speech and tongue, basically saying 'I require too much patience to communicate clearly.' God didn't fix his speech—He said 'I will BE with your mouth' and used him EXACTLY as he was to deliver a nation.
I REFUSE the lie that I require too much patience or that my learning pace is a burden. IT IS WRITTEN that those who wait on the Lord renew their strength, and God's patience with me NEVER runs out. I am not defective—I am DESIGNED by the Father with purpose. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and that includes how I learn, how I grow, and how I process. The BARAK blessing over my life doesn't depend on my speed—it depends on GOD'S FAITHFULNESS. I am the head and not the tail. The right people will celebrate my pace, not criticize it. God's timing for my life is PERFECT, and I trust His design in me.
The Father isn't tapping His foot waiting for you to hurry up. He's walking WITH you, at YOUR pace, whispering 'We've got time, son. I'm not going anywhere.' Every moment you think you're behind, He sees you right where He planned.
