"I need to wait until I'm married to ask God for reproductive health and healing."
How it sounds in your head: These are 'future wife and mother' problems, not teenage girl problems. Maybe I should just deal with the pain and irregularity now and only pray about it when it actually matters for having kids.
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"
-- Matthew 7:11Religious teaching that devalues young women's bodies except in context of marriage and motherhood, treating current suffering as irrelevant.
Church addresses women's health mainly in marriage context. Youth group never talks about periods or reproductive health. It feels presumptuous to ask for healing for something that 'doesn't matter yet.'
Jairus's daughter was only 12 years old—just entering reproductive years—when she died. Jesus raised her IMMEDIATELY, saying 'Little girl, arise.' He valued her life and body at 12, not waiting until she was marriage age.
I REFUSE the lie that my body only matters in marriage context. IT IS WRITTEN that the Father gives good gifts to those who ask—no age restriction, no marital status requirement. My health, my cycles, my body matter to Him RIGHT NOW, not just in potential future motherhood. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to give abundant life—that includes abundant life in MY BODY at MY AGE. Jairus's daughter was only 12 when Jesus raised her; the Father values young women's bodies, not just wives' bodies. The BARAK blessing doesn't wait for a wedding ring—it's mine NOW as a daughter of the King. I ask boldly for healing, wholeness, and divine order in my reproductive health because the Father cares about my present, not just my future.
The Father doesn't look at your teenage body and say 'call me when you're married'—He values you NOW, at this age, in this season. He's running toward you with the same urgency He had for Jairus's 12-year-old daughter, ready to speak LIFE over your body today.
