"Infertility is God's way of telling us to adopt instead of having biological children."
How it sounds in your head: Christians keep suggesting adoption like it's God's Plan B for you. 'Maybe this is His way of leading you to an orphan who needs you.' It sounds spiritual, but it feels like giving up. You're 46 - if you're going to adopt, the window is closing there too. Maybe the infertility is God closing the biological door and opening the adoption door.
"Sing, O barren, you who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married woman, says the Lord."
-- Isaiah 54:1Religious fatalism that interprets closed doors as divine redirection rather than temporary obstacles to overcome.
Adoption is beautiful and biblical, so the suggestion sounds godly. The years of infertility could be interpreted as God's sovereignty leading you elsewhere. But deep down, you wonder if you're supposed to fight for the biological promise or surrender to what seems like Plan B.
She was barren with no children, no medical options, no timeframe given. The Angel of the Lord appeared and said 'You shall conceive and bear a son' - direct divine intervention with specific instructions. She conceived, bore Samson, and he became one of Israel's deliverers. No process, no adoption suggestion - just promise and fulfillment.
I REFUSE the lie that infertility is God redirecting me away from biological children. IT IS WRITTEN that the barren woman will SING because MORE children are coming than she imagined. I am not settling for what seems possible; I am believing for what God PROMISED. The BARAK blessing includes 'blessed shall be the fruit of your body' - not someone else's body, YOUR body. IT IS WRITTEN that children are a heritage from the LORD. I declare biological children from our union, covenant seed from our bodies, and testimonies of supernatural conception. Adoption is beautiful, but I refuse to let the enemy use it to steal what God spoke.
The Father who sent an angel to a barren woman with the message 'YOU WILL CONCEIVE' isn't suggesting you settle for someone else's child because yours is too hard. He's running toward you with the promise that YOUR womb, YOUR seed, YOUR biological line will produce children - and if He adds adopted ones too, it's BOTH/AND, not either/or.
