"I need to prove I can handle small amounts before God trusts me with more."
How it sounds in your head: You've been irresponsible, so God is testing you with little to see if you're faithful. Once you prove yourself with what little you have, maybe then He'll give you more. You're on probation.
"Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt."
-- Matthew 18:27Religion—the 'faithful in little' verse twisted into performance-based provision, making God a manager who promotes based on quarterly reviews.
Luke 16:10 seems to say this. Every authority figure teaches earning trust. It sounds biblical and responsible to accept this testing period.
This servant owed 10,000 talents—roughly 6 billion dollars in today's money, literally impossible to repay even in multiple lifetimes. He hadn't proven anything, had zero track record of responsibility. The master was moved with COMPASSION and forgave the ENTIRE DEBT instantly—no payment plan, no probation, just complete forgiveness based on compassion alone.
I REFUSE the lie that I must prove myself with little before receiving more. IT IS WRITTEN in Matthew 18:27 that the master forgave BILLIONS in debt based on COMPASSION, not proven track record—the servant hadn't demonstrated anything, yet received instant total forgiveness. The prodigal got full restoration without a probationary period. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:13 that I am blessed with Abraham's blessing through Christ—the BARAK protected Abraham even when he LIED, not after he proved his integrity. God's provision flows from HIS COMPASSION and my POSITION in Christ, not my performance reviews. I receive IMMEDIATE breakthrough NOW because my Father moves from compassion, not quarterly evaluations of my faithfulness.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to prove yourself with pennies before trusting you with dollars. He forgave billions without probation and gave the prodigal everything while he smelled like failure, because His nature is COMPASSIONATE GIVER, not probationary manager.
