"I need to lower my expectations and just be grateful I can function at all."
How it sounds in your head: People say I should be thankful I'm not worse. Maybe wanting healing is selfish when others have it harder. I should just appreciate what I CAN do and stop asking for more.
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
-- Ephesians 3:20False humility disguised as gratitude—enemy convincing her that accepting less than wholeness is godly contentment.
Others DO have worse conditions. She CAN still function somewhat. Wanting more feels ungrateful. The comparison game makes her feel selfish for desiring complete healing.
When Jesus asked what he wanted, Bartimaeus didn't say 'just help me cope with blindness' or 'I'm grateful I can still hear'—he said 'I want to SEE.' Jesus honored the audacious ask with IMMEDIATE sight.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting wholeness is selfish. IT IS WRITTEN that God does exceedingly abundantly ABOVE all I ask—my expectations can't be too high for Him. I will not call gratitude what is actually resignation. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 103:3 that He heals ALL my diseases—not some, not enough to survive, ALL. The BARAK blessing doesn't promise survival; it promises OVERFLOW—blessed coming and going, in city and field, in BODY and future. I am not greedy for asking for healing. I am AGREEING with Heaven's plan. I expect COMPLETE wholeness because that's what the cross purchased.
The Father doesn't want you grateful for scraps—He wants you feasting at His table. He's running toward you not with 'at least you can walk,' but with 'dance, run, LIVE fully.' The party He's throwing isn't for your survival; it's for your COMPLETE restoration.
