"I need to lose weight before I die so I don't look terrible at my funeral."
How it sounds in your head: People will remember me as the fat woman in the casket. I need to get this weight off so I'm presentable when I'm gone. My final image matters.
"For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
-- 1 Samuel 16:7Enemy + world's obsession with appearance even in DEATH, stealing peace in final days with body-image torment.
She's imagining the funeral, the viewing, people's comments. Vanity doesn't die with age—culture has conditioned her that appearance = legacy. Even in death, she feels judged.
Lazarus had been dead FOUR DAYS—decomposing, smelling. Martha said 'there is a stench.' Jesus raised him ANYWAY, stench and all. God's power isn't hindered by how you look, alive OR dead.
I REFUSE the lie that I need to lose weight before I die. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart'—my HEART is what God sees and what matters eternally. My legacy is not my body; it's the LOVE I gave and the God I served. IT IS WRITTEN: To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8)—I'm shedding this body for GLORY, not for a dress size. The BARAK blessing covers my LIFE, not my funeral appearance. I am FREE.
The Father doesn't care what size casket you need. He's preparing a BODY that will never age, never sag, never fail—PERFECT and ETERNAL. Rest, daughter. You're about to trade in, not measure up.
