"I need to learn my lesson through financial struggle before things can get better."
How it sounds in your head: God is teaching you through this poverty. You need to suffer through the consequences to build character and responsibility. Once you've learned, maybe then He'll bless you.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Religion—suffering-as-teacher theology that makes God the author of poverty and punishment the path to maturity.
Every adult says consequences teach lessons. Suffering feels redemptive, like paying penance. It seems humble to accept poverty as your teacher.
The wedding ran out of wine—social disaster, financial embarrassment, poor planning on display. Jesus didn't lecture about budgeting or make them wait to 'learn their lesson.' He INSTANTLY turned water into 180 gallons of the FINEST wine, saving them from shame and lack in one moment.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds provision to teach me lessons through poverty. IT IS WRITTEN in John 10:10 that Jesus came to give ABUNDANT life, and the thief comes to steal—poverty is the THIEF's work, not my Father's teaching method. Jesus turned water to wine INSTANTLY when they ran out—no lecture, no waiting period, no lesson through lack. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:11 that the Lord grants me ABUNDANT prosperity, not abundant lessons through struggle. I am a BRANCH attached to the VINE—provision flows naturally from connection, not through suffering. I receive breakthrough NOW because my Father gives LIFE abundantly, not poverty educationally.
Your Father isn't withholding provision until you 'get it'—He's the God who turned water to wine INSTANTLY when they ran out. He teaches through abundance and goodness, not through poverty and punishment, because His nature is GIVER, not withholder.
