"I need to get my life together before I'm worthy of a relationship."
How it sounds in your head: You don't have a car, a plan, money saved. You feel like a mess—grades slipping, future uncertain, still living at home. How could you ask someone to be with you when you can't even get yourself together? You tell yourself 'once I have my act together, then maybe.'
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Performance-based religion that says you qualify for blessing by achievement rather than covenant.
Every message you've heard implies men are providers and you're not providing. You feel the weight of 'get a job, get a plan, get stable' before you deserve love.
Jacob showed up at Laban's house with NOTHING—he was running for his life, penniless, no plan. Yet he saw Rachel and loved her IMMEDIATELY. He worked seven years for her while owning nothing, and those years 'seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her.'
I REFUSE the lie that I need to get my act together before I'm worthy of relationship. IT IS WRITTEN that God loved me while I was STILL a sinner—still a mess, still broken, still without a plan. My worthiness for blessing isn't based on my bank account or career trajectory. The BARAK blessing was on Jacob when he owned NOTHING, and he still got the wife, the wealth, the destiny. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 1:3 that I'm ALREADY blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ—not after I qualify, but NOW. I don't earn love by getting stable; I receive love because I'm IN the Beloved.
Father isn't waiting for you to build a resume before He blesses you. He's running toward you right now—broke, confused, uncertain future and all—because His blessings aren't PAYMENT for achievement; they're GIFTS based on His covenant.
