"I need to forgive perfectly before God will move in my situation."
How it sounds in your head: You still feel angry when you think about what they did. That must mean you haven't really forgiven. God won't answer your prayers or heal your situation until you forgive completely—and you're failing at it.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses."
-- Colossians 2:13Religion makes forgiveness a work you must perfect before accessing God's blessing, reversing the gospel order.
You've heard 'Forgive so you can be forgiven' and assumed your breakthrough is stuck behind your imperfect forgiveness. The ongoing pain feels like evidence you're blocking God.
Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery, destroyed 13 years of his life. When he forgave them, it wasn't instant—he tested them first, wept privately, wrestled with it. Yet God had ALREADY positioned him as ruler and was ALREADY working the plan before Joseph's forgiveness was 'perfect.'
I REFUSE the lie that my imperfect forgiveness blocks God's blessing. IT IS WRITTEN: He has ALREADY forgiven me all trespasses—past tense, finished. My forgiveness of others flows FROM being forgiven, not to earn it. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me—He moved FIRST. Even Joseph took time to process forgiving his brothers, yet God was already positioning him for breakthrough. The BARAK blessing protected Abraham even when he held grudges. I receive grace for the forgiveness journey.
Your Father isn't withholding blessing until your forgiveness is perfect. He's the God who forgave you WHILE you were still sinning against Him. He's patient with your process and healing your wounds even as you learn to release others.
