"I must have unconfessed sin blocking my healing since I've been sick so long."
How it sounds in your head: Healthy people must be more right with God. I've searched my heart a thousand times—what am I missing? What secret sin is God waiting for me to find and confess before He'll heal me? I'm sick because I'm not spiritually clean enough.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you ALL trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Source: Religion's 'hidden sin' witch hunt + Job's counselors theology that suffering equals hidden guilt requiring detective work to uncover.
You've watched less godly people stay healthy while you suffer, so the equation feels like your sickness is punishment. If healing isn't coming, something must be blocking it, and religion says that something is YOU.
Disciples asked whose sin caused his blindness—his or his parents. Jesus said NEITHER—'this happened so the works of God could be displayed.' His sickness wasn't punishment. It was a setup for GLORY.
I REFUSE the lie that my sickness is evidence of hidden sin. IT IS WRITTEN that God has forgiven me ALL trespasses and wiped out every requirement against me. My healing isn't blocked by unconfessed sin—it's FINISHED by the blood of Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I WAS healed. Past tense. Done. I don't need to find secret sin. I need to RECEIVE finished work. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and sickness is an illegal trespasser that must GO in Jesus' name.
Your Father isn't withholding healing until you find the secret sin. He's already declared you RIGHTEOUS through Jesus' blood—every sin confessed and unconfessed COVERED. He's running toward you with healing in His hands, not a list of your failures.
