"I need to forgive everyone perfectly before God will answer my prayers or heal me."
How it sounds in your head: People hurt me—my ex-husband, my kids who don't call, friends who forgot me. I know I'm supposed to forgive, but I still feel the pain. Until I can forgive without feeling it, God won't move. My bitterness is blocking my breakthrough.
"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."
-- Ephesians 1:7Source: Religion's 'forgive to be forgiven' OLD COVENANT condition that ignores Jesus' blood making forgiveness a FINISHED GIFT, not a performance.
You've heard Mark 11:25 preached as a condition, and you DO feel hurt when you think of certain people. Since you still feel pain, you assume you haven't forgiven, and therefore God's hands are tied until you DO.
Four friends lowered a paralyzed man through a roof to Jesus. Jesus said 'Your sins are FORGIVEN' BEFORE healing him—didn't ask if he'd forgiven everyone, didn't require a forgiveness checklist. Forgiveness first, THEN healing, and both were GIFTS.
I REFUSE the lie that my imperfect forgiveness blocks God's blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that I HAVE forgiveness through Jesus' blood according to the RICHES OF HIS GRACE. My Father doesn't withhold healing until I perform forgiveness perfectly—He GAVE me forgiveness as a GIFT. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for me in Christ. I release those who hurt me not to EARN God's favor but BECAUSE I already have it. I am forgiven. I am FREE. I am healed. All by GRACE.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to manufacture perfect emotions toward people who hurt you. He already forgave YOU while you were still a sinner—and He's healing you not because you earned it through forgiving others, but because GRACE is who He is.
