"I need to obey all the rules perfectly to stay in God's good graces."
How it sounds in your head: There's so many rules—don't do this, don't say that, go to church, be nice. If I slip up, maybe God will be upset with me and stop blessing me.
"For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace."
-- Romans 6:14Religion replaces relationship with regulations, returning believers to Old Covenant law after Jesus fulfilled it all.
Church and parents emphasize behavior, and you see blessings framed as rewards for obedience. It seems like a divine vending machine—insert good behavior, receive blessing.
Jacob lied to his blind father, stole Esau's blessing through deception. When Isaac discovered it, he trembled but declared, 'I have blessed him and he SHALL BE BLESSED'—the blessing couldn't be undone.
I REFUSE the lie that rule-keeping maintains God's favor. IT IS WRITTEN: I am not under law but under GRACE. Jesus fulfilled every rule on my behalf. Jacob's deception couldn't cancel the blessing because it's based on COVENANT, not conduct. IT IS WRITTEN: I am free from the law of sin and death. The BARAK blessing flows through Jesus' blood, not my behavior. I declare I stand in LIBERTY, blessed coming in and going out, because I'm in CHRIST.
The Father isn't holding a checklist over your head—Jesus checked every box. You're not on probation; you're at the family table with permanent seating, and nothing you do revokes that chair.
