"I need to confess every hidden sin and get my heart right before God will bless me with children."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe there's some unforgiveness I haven't dealt with. Maybe I need to fast more, pray harder, search my heart deeper. God must be waiting for me to reach some level of spiritual maturity or purity before He'll trust me with a child.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ."
-- Ephesians 1:3Performance-based religion teaching that blessing follows behavior, turning God's gifts into wages earned through sufficient heart-work and confession.
Church teaching has conditioned her to view every withholding as evidence of hidden sin. When prayer isn't answered, the default is self-examination rather than standing on promises regardless of performance.
The thief had NO time to clean up, no chance to make amends, no opportunity to prove worthiness. One moment of faith and Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise' - INSTANT access to everything with ZERO works.
I REFUSE the lie that I must earn my blessing. IT IS WRITTEN: God 'HAS blessed us with EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ.' Not 'will bless when worthy' but HAS BLESSED. I am righteous through Christ, not through confession. IT IS WRITTEN: 'He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.' The thief on the cross got paradise with NO works. I receive children as GIFT, not wages, because I'm under GRACE.
The Father isn't waiting for you to finally get your act together - He's already running toward you with the promise because His blessing is based on HIS performance at the cross, not yours in your prayer closet. While you're still searching your heart, He's already signed the blessing with Jesus' blood.
