"I need to accept this diagnosis as God's will for my latter years."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe this is just part of His plan for my final chapter. Who am I to demand healing when Jesus Himself said 'not my will but Yours'? The pastor said God's ways are higher than our ways. Perhaps I'm supposed to be a witness through suffering, show grace under pressure, teach my grandkids how to die well. Fighting it might be resisting God's sovereign plan.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religious spirit baptizes enemy attack as divine curriculum and relabels fatalistic surrender as spiritual maturity to prevent resistance against sickness.
You've heard a lifetime of sermons about 'accepting God's will' and 'surrendering to His plan.' The theology sounds humble - who are you to tell God what you need? Suffering saints are elevated as extra-spiritual; those claiming healing sometimes seem arrogant or in denial.
Eighteen years bent over by a spirit of infirmity - religious leaders said sabbath law forbade healing, implying God's timing wasn't now. Jesus called her forward immediately, said 'ought not this daughter of Abraham be loosed?' - revealing sickness as bondage to break, not divine curriculum to accept.
I REFUSE the lie that sickness carries God's signature or that accepting disease honors Him more than expecting covenant health. IT IS WRITTEN that it's God's will for me to prosper and be in health just as my soul prospers - health IS the will, not the exception to it. Jesus destroyed the works of the devil - and sickness is devil's work, not Father's tool. IT IS WRITTEN in Acts 10:38 that God anointed Jesus who went about HEALING ALL who were oppressed by the devil - not some, not the ones whose suffering served no purpose, ALL, because ALL sickness is oppression. The BARAK blessing includes 'the Lord will take away from you all sickness' - that's covenant, not maybe. I am Abraham's daughter/son; I ought to be loosed from this bondage, and I declare freedom now because Jesus already paid for it.
Your Father isn't authoring your diagnosis as chapter 12 in your suffering curriculum - He's the One who already destroyed sickness at Calvary and is running toward you with resurrection life in His hands. He didn't make Jesus suffer disease to build character; He made Jesus CARRY your disease to eliminate it from your body.
