"I need to accept physical limitations as part of getting older."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe it's pride to keep expecting my body to do what it did before. Maybe wisdom is accepting limitations, adjusting expectations, learning to live with less capacity.
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
-- Ephesians 3:20Religion: the false humility teaching that accepting decline is spiritual maturity.
Church culture often equates acceptance with peace, and fighting decline can feel like striving. He's been told 'let go and let God,' which sounds like accepting whatever comes, including physical decline.
When Jesus asked Bartimaeus what he wanted, he didn't say 'help me accept my blindness.' He said 'I want to SEE.' Jesus responded, 'Go your way; your faith has made you well.' IMMEDIATELY he received his sight. No process. No acceptance of limitation.
I REFUSE the lie that accepting limitation is wisdom. IT IS WRITTEN that God does EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY above all I ask or think. Accepting decline isn't humility—it's unbelief. Jesus gave Bartimaeus SIGHT, not acceptance of blindness. My God is a God of INCREASE, not decrease. The BARAK blessing promises I am above only and not beneath. IT IS WRITTEN: with long life He satisfies me and shows me His salvation. I reject limitation. I receive ABUNDANCE. I expect INCREASE in my body by grace. God's nature is MORE, not less.
The Father isn't asking you to accept less—He's running toward you with ABUNDANCE, ready to exceed every expectation. He doesn't call lowered expectations 'wisdom'; He calls increased capacity GRACE. He's prepared MORE for you, not less.
