"I need someone more spiritual to fight this battle for me."
How it sounds in your head: You should ask your youth pastor to pray. He knows how to do this. Maybe your parents need to handle it. You're out of your depth here—get someone with more experience, more anointing, more faith.
"Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
-- Matthew 18:18Source: Religion created a clergy class that made laypeople feel dependent on 'professionals' for spiritual breakthrough.
You've seen powerful testimonies from guest speakers and pastors. It feels safer and more effective to have someone with a 'stronger connection' to God handle the heavy lifting. You feel like a spiritual amateur.
God sent a random disciple—not Peter, not an apostle—to pray for the most famous enemy of the church, Saul. Ananias was terrified and argued with God. He laid hands on Saul anyway, and instantly Saul's blindness was healed and he was filled with the Holy Spirit. One unknown believer, one obedient moment, church history changed.
I REFUSE the lie that I need someone else to fight my battles. IT IS WRITTEN that whatever I bind on earth is bound in heaven—MY voice carries heaven's authority. I am not waiting for a more anointed person; the same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus lives in ME. I have direct access to the throne of grace, and the Father hears MY prayers just as clearly as He hears anyone else's. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 4:16 that I can come BOLDLY to the throne. I am Abraham's seed, a royal priesthood, and I carry the authority of the Name above all names.
The Father isn't saying, 'Let me get someone more qualified.' He's saying, 'You're My son. You carry My Name. You have My full attention and My full power. Stop outsourcing what I've already equipped you to handle.' He delights in using the 'unqualified' to shame the wise.
