I REFUSE the lie that I need substances to rest. IT IS WRITTEN that my sleep will be sweet when I lie down in trust, and that the Lord ALONE makes me dwell in safety. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit—the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells in me and gives life to my mortal body (Romans 8:11). IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 121:4 that my Keeper neither slumbers nor sleeps—He's alert so I don't have to be. I receive supernatural sleep as my covenant right. The BARAK blessing includes rest for my body without chemical dependence. I am free from every form of bondage, including dependence on pills or alcohol for peace.
Your Father isn't judging you for the sleep aids—He's inviting you to discover that His supernatural peace produces better rest than any prescription. He's not waiting for you to white-knuckle through withdrawal; He's offering the sleep He gave Jonah in the middle of a storm, the rest He commanded for Elijah in depression.
