"I must have unforgiveness or bitterness blocking my prayers from being answered."
How it sounds in your head: You know you're supposed to forgive, but honestly, you're still hurt. Maybe that's why God isn't moving - there's some person or situation you haven't fully released, and until you do, your prayers hit a ceiling.
"And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Religion weaponizes forgiveness as a prerequisite for receiving from God rather than the fruit of already being forgiven.
She's heard Mark 11:25 quoted about forgiving so your Father can forgive you, creating a transactional equation where her unforgiveness blocks God's response. When prayers aren't answered, she assumes she hasn't forgiven deeply enough.
Peter denied knowing Jesus three times with cursing and oaths. After resurrection, Jesus didn't require Peter to forgive himself, process his guilt, or complete a restoration program. He made him breakfast on the beach and commissioned him to feed His sheep - from betrayal to apostleship in one conversation with no barriers.
I REFUSE the lie that my imperfect forgiveness blocks God's answers. IT IS WRITTEN that God forgave ALL my trespasses and nailed the record to the cross - past tense, finished. I don't forgive TO GET forgiven; I forgive FROM BEING forgiven. My access to the Father isn't based on my ability to release others perfectly; it's based on His perfect release of me. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION - not 'condemnation until you forgive everyone perfectly.' The BARAK blessing didn't wait for Jacob to forgive Esau or for Joseph to forgive his brothers before God moved - it operated DURING the conflict. I receive breakthrough not because I've mastered forgiveness but because I am completely forgiven, and that forgiveness cannot be hindered.
The Father isn't holding your breakthrough hostage until you perfectly forgive everyone who hurt you - He's already released everything to you while you were still His enemy. Like Peter restored over breakfast with no forgiveness test, you have full access to everything He purchased, and forgiveness will flow FROM that security, not as payment for it.
