"I must have unconfessed sin or unforgiveness blocking my healing from coming through."
How it sounds in your head: I've prayed for healing but nothing changes—maybe there's hidden sin I can't see. Maybe I haven't truly forgiven that person from decades ago. God must be withholding healing until I get everything right.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you ALL trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Performance-based religion making healing contingent on perfect confession and forensic forgiveness.
Sermons on 'hindrances to healing' and James 5:16 taken out of context create fear that one overlooked sin blocks everything. The lack of immediate healing feels like evidence of hidden disqualification.
Four friends brought him to Jesus—the text never mentions HIS faith, only theirs. Jesus said 'your sins are forgiven' and IMMEDIATELY commanded him to rise, and he walked out completely healed in front of everyone.
I REFUSE the lie that hidden sin blocks my healing. IT IS WRITTEN that God has forgiven me ALL trespasses and nailed the complete record to the cross—there is NO hidden disqualification. Jesus healed people based on HIS compassion, not their confession accuracy. The paralytic was healed because of his FRIENDS' faith, not perfect repentance. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus—none means NONE. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, not by my memory but by His blood. I declare healing flows from Jesus' FINISHED work, not my performance, and I receive it NOW by grace through faith.
Your Father isn't playing hide-and-seek with your healing, waiting for you to find the secret sin blocking it. He's already forgiven everything—past, present, future—and He's freely offering healing purchased by Jesus. He sees you as righteous, not as a detective case to solve.
