"I must have hidden sin or God would heal this body before I die"
How it sounds in your head: Other people get healed, so my continued sickness must mean there's unconfessed sin blocking it. Maybe I don't have enough faith, or maybe God knows something about my heart that even I don't see.
"And His disciples asked Him, saying, 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'"
-- John 9:2-3Religious teaching that healing is merit-based + Name It/Claim It theology that blames the sick for lack of faith.
She's prayed for decades, watched others testify of healing, and her body keeps deteriorating. The only explanation religious teaching offers is hidden sin or insufficient faith, leaving her with crushing self-examination.
Blind from birth - forty years of unanswered prayer, religious leaders saying it was sin's fault, no healing despite being in covenant community. Jesus said the blindness had NOTHING to do with sin and healed him INSTANTLY when the time came - not because he finally got right, but because it was time for glory.
I REFUSE the lie that my sickness proves hidden sin or weak faith! IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus Himself said sickness is NOT caused by sin - 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned.' I am not being punished or tested by illness. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for me in Christ Jesus - NONE. My healing may be instant in this body or instant in the resurrection, but either way I am FULLY righteous NOW. The BARAK blessing of health is mine by covenant, whether I see it manifest in this age or the age to come!
The Father isn't withholding healing because you're not good enough - He's the One who sent His Son to be wounded for your healing. Every moment you suffer, He suffers with you, longing to wipe every tear away soon.
