"I missed my chance to heal this while my parents were alive; now it's unresolved forever."
How it sounds in your head: They're both gone now. I never got the apology, never had the conversation, never heard 'I'm sorry' or 'I was wrong.' That door is closed. I'll carry this wound to my grave because I waited too long.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy using death's finality to lock the prison door, suggesting earthly resolution was required for heavenly healing.
The funeral is over. The casket is closed. The conversations he rehearsed a thousand times will never happen. The physical impossibility feels like spiritual impossibility.
Brothers sold him into slavery, 22 years of suffering and separation from his father. God redeemed it ALL instantly—Joseph told his brothers 'You meant evil, but God meant it for good'—complete healing without them ever being 'good enough' parents.
I REFUSE the lie that healing died with my parents. IT IS WRITTEN that God will RESTORE the years the locust has eaten—not might restore, not could restore, WILL RESTORE. My healing is not dependent on their apology or their presence. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 7:25 that Jesus saves to the UTTERMOST. The uttermost includes this wound, this loss, this unfinished business. The BARAK blessing includes restoration of relationship—God defended Abraham even when he LIED. I am under a better covenant. The Father is healing RIGHT NOW what my parents couldn't. I receive the Father's love as substitute, supplement, and completion for every deficit. I am not an orphan. I am a son at the table, and the Father is filling every empty place with Himself.
Your Father is doing right now what they couldn't do then. He's speaking the words they didn't know how to say. The prodigal didn't need to bring his father back from the dead—the father was ALREADY running. Your Heavenly Father has been running toward this wound your entire life.
