"I missed God's timing, and now I'm outside His perfect will for my life."
How it sounds in your head: I feel like I said no when I should've said yes. I chose the safe path when maybe He was calling me to risk. I'm 35 now, and the door feels closed. Did I miss my one shot? Am I stuck in His permissive will instead of His perfect will?
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
-- Romans 8:28Source: religious teaching that God has ONE perfect path and any deviation puts you in a 'second-best' category permanently.
She can point to a specific moment where she chose fear over faith—didn't take the job, didn't pursue the dream, stayed in the safe relationship. Now she's older, and it feels too late. She's convinced she's living in the consequences of a wrong turn.
Jonah got a clear assignment from God and RAN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, got swallowed by a fish, spent three days in digestive juices. When he finally showed up, God didn't say, 'Too late, I found someone else.' He used him EXACTLY as planned. From fish guts to the greatest revival in history in ONE OBEDIENCE.
I REFUSE the lie that I've missed God's timing or perfect will. IT IS WRITTEN that ALL things work together for good to those who love God, which means my wrong turns are INCLUDED in His plan, not excluded from it. There is no 'too late' with the God of resurrection. IT IS WRITTEN that His gifts and callings are IRREVOCABLE, which means He hasn't withdrawn what He put in me just because I took a detour. I am not living in Plan B—I am living in the REDEMPTION PLAN, where God makes beauty from ashes and turns my detours into divine setups. The BARAK doesn't expire because I missed a season.
The Father doesn't have a backup plan for you because you zigged when you should've zagged. He's not scrambling to make the best of your mistakes. He's SOVEREIGN, which means every choice you made—even the wrong ones—are inside His ability to redeem. The prodigal took the WORST possible detour, but when he came back, the Father didn't say, 'Well, you missed your window.' He threw a PARTY and restored EVERYTHING.
