"I have to work really hard and save every penny to have financial security."
How it sounds in your head: My dad always says money doesn't grow on trees and I need to learn the value of hard work. If I don't save everything and work for everything, I'll end up broke. God helps those who help themselves. It all depends on me.
"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
-- Matthew 6:26Source: World's system and religious works mentality teaching provision comes from human effort rather than covenant blessing.
Every authority figure in his life - parents, teachers, coaches - emphasizes effort, earning, and saving. The constant message is that his financial future depends entirely on his hustle and discipline.
During drought and famine, God commanded ravens to bring him bread and meat morning and evening - supernatural provision with zero human effort. Elijah didn't work for it, save for it, or hustle for it.
I REFUSE the lie that my financial security depends on my effort and saving. IT IS WRITTEN that my Father feeds birds who don't work or store up, and I'm worth MORE. God gives me POWER to get wealth - provision flows from Him, not from my hustle. IT IS WRITTEN that the BARAK blessing means I'm blessed in everything I do. I work from rest, not for survival. Like Elijah who received bread from ravens, my Father supplies supernaturally. I am a branch connected to the Vine - I abide, and fruit comes naturally. My security is in HIM.
Your Father doesn't want you living in the anxiety of 'it all depends on me.' He's your SOURCE, and He delights in providing for you in ways that have nothing to do with your hustle - He's already commanded blessing on your life.
