"I have to wait until I'm older and have proven myself before I can expect financial breakthrough."
How it sounds in your head: I'm just a kid. No one's going to take me seriously or give me opportunities. I have to wait my turn, pay my dues, prove I'm responsible over decades.
"But the Lord said to me: 'Do not say, "I am a youth," for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.'"
-- Jeremiah 1:7World's system of earning through time and age, denying immediate covenant access based on identity in Christ.
Every system he encounters—school, work, church—rewards age and experience, making 'waiting your turn' feel like the only path.
David was the youngest, overlooked, out tending sheep while his older brothers stood before Samuel. God rejected all the 'qualified' older brothers and chose the TEENAGER shepherd—anointed him king on the spot, zero waiting period to prove himself. Age and position didn't matter; covenant calling did.
I REFUSE the lie that I have to wait until I'm older or have 'proven myself' to experience breakthrough. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Do not say, "I am a youth"' (Jer 1:7). God doesn't wait for age or résumés. David was anointed king as a TEEN, killed Goliath while adults cowered. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Let no one despise your youth' (1 Tim 4:12). I am Abraham's seed NOW, blessed NOW, heir NOW (Gal 3:29). The BARAK blessing is mine by covenant, not by age—blessed coming in and going out, head not tail, above not beneath (Deut 28:6, 13). The prodigal got full restoration in MINUTES. I don't earn through time; I RECEIVE by grace. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Out of the mouth of babes God ordains strength' (Ps 8:2). My breakthrough is NOW.
The Father doesn't make you wait until you're 'old enough'—He's already placed the ring on your finger and the robe on your shoulders, celebrating you NOW. Like David, you're anointed today, not someday.
