"I have to wait for her to repent and come back before God will move."
How it sounds in your head: Nothing can happen until she makes the first move. God respects free will, so He's waiting for her to turn around. My hands are tied until she decides to come home. All I can do is pray and wait for her to hit bottom and realize she needs to change.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Works-based repentance that makes human decision the trigger for divine action, reversing the biblical order of grace.
Free will is real, and she has to choose to return. It feels presumptuous to expect God to move before she shows any sign of wanting to change. The theology of 'meeting God halfway' makes her repentance the prerequisite.
Jesus intentionally went through Samaria to meet a woman in active sin—five failed marriages, living with a man she wasn't married to. He didn't wait for her to clean up or repent; He initiated the conversation, revealed Himself to her, and she left her water pot and brought the whole city to Him.
I REFUSE the lie that God is waiting for my daughter to make the first move. IT IS WRITTEN that while we were STILL SINNERS, Christ died for us—He moved FIRST. God's kindness LEADS TO repentance; it doesn't wait for it. IT IS WRITTEN that the Father ran to the prodigal while he was STILL FAR OFF. Jesus pursued the woman at the well IN her sin. Right now, God is orchestrating divine appointments, whispering in dreams, and positioning people in her path. The BARAK blessing means favor is CHASING her down!
The Father isn't sitting in heaven with arms crossed waiting for her to grovel her way back. He's already running, already orchestrating, already speaking—and your prayers give Him PERMISSION to invade her world with kindness that will utterly disarm her defenses and melt her heart before she even realizes what's happening.
