"I have to earn the right to eat through exercise or productivity."
How it sounds in your head: If you didn't work out today, you don't deserve that meal. Food is fuel you earn through output. Rest days mean restriction days. Every calorie must be justified by work.
"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
-- Matthew 6:26Source: performance-based religion that applied works-righteousness to physical nourishment.
Your entire adult life has been measured by productivity, and letting that metric go—even with food—feels irresponsible. Eating 'freely' without earning it feels like laziness.
God commanded ravens to feed Elijah bread and meat twice daily while he did nothing but hide by a brook. Zero productivity, full provision—fed morning and evening by miracle birds.
I REFUSE the lie that I must earn food through exercise or work. IT IS WRITTEN that my Father feeds the birds who produce nothing, and I am worth far more. I declare that eating is a gift of grace, not a wage for performance. IT IS WRITTEN that salvation is by grace through faith, not works—and neither is nourishment. I walk in the BARAK blessing where provision comes by covenant, not sweat. Like Elijah fed by ravens while resting, I receive sustenance as pure gift from a good Father.
The Father is running toward you with bread already baked, prepared before you did a single pushup. He's not checking your workout log before setting the table—He feeds you because you're His son, period.
