"I have to choose between being blessed and being humble."
How it sounds in your head: If I have too much or talk about blessings, people will think I'm prideful or spoiled. Good Christian girls are supposed to be humble, which means staying small and not having too much.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religion: False humility doctrine that equates poverty and smallness with godliness.
She's heard teaching that humility means downplaying blessings and seen 'humble' Christians criticized for having nice things, creating a fear of abundance.
Called the father of faith and described as 'very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.' God called him friend and blessed him abundantly—wealth and humility coexisted perfectly.
I REFUSE the lie that I must choose between blessing and humility. IT IS WRITTEN that God's will is for me to PROSPER in all things—not stay small to appear godly. Abraham was VERY RICH and called God's friend. Solomon had immeasurable wealth and immeasurable wisdom. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 8:18 that God gives the POWER to get wealth. Humility knows the SOURCE; it doesn't reject the SUPPLY. The BARAK blessing makes me the HEAD and not the tail. I am BLESSED, PROSPEROUS, and HUMBLE in knowing WHO provides.
The Father isn't asking you to stay small to prove you're humble. He's inviting you to be BLESSED LOUDLY so the world sees HIS goodness, not your lack.
