"I have to build my whole life around managing this disease."
How it sounds in your head: Every decision is filtered through 'can my body handle it?' My calendar revolves around appointments. My diet is disease management. My career choices are limited by energy levels. The illness is the center; everything else orbits it.
"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth."
-- Colossians 3:2Enemy making disease the sun of her solar system—everything revolving around sickness instead of her revolving around the SON.
She DOES have to consider symptoms in decisions. She DOES have medical appointments that dictate her schedule. Ignoring limitations feels irresponsible. The disease demands attention constantly.
Paul had a 'thorn in the flesh' but didn't build his life around it—he built three missionary journeys, wrote half the New Testament, and said 'when I am weak, He is strong.' The thorn didn't dictate; CHRIST did.
I REFUSE the lie that my life orbits around disease management. IT IS WRITTEN to set my mind on things ABOVE—Christ is my center, not symptoms. My decisions are led by the Spirit, not by limitations. IT IS WRITTEN in Philippians 4:13 that I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me—not 'some things my body allows.' The BARAK blessing declares I am the HEAD, not the tail—I lead my body; my body doesn't lead me. Christ is the SUN of my solar system. Everything else, including this illness, orbits HIM. I am not managed by disease. I am EMPOWERED by resurrection life.
The Father sees you exhausted from managing symptoms, and He's running toward you saying 'Stop managing and start RECEIVING—I already managed it at the cross.' The party He's throwing celebrates you LIVING FULLY, not surviving carefully.
